She attributes her success to having strong mentors, including CEO’s who have provided an environment for growth and learning key business drivers and sharing their knowledge for development of a strong business accumen.

Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
Ms. Shaw became involved in her HR profession as she started her earlier career as a paralegal, managing business law and saw the opportunity to assist CEO’s prior to engaging an employment attorney’s council keeping companies free from employment litigation.

During her HR leadership, Ms. Shaw also obtained her insurance licenses and became an entrepreneur in the insurance industry where she managed her own production and large clientele and book of business, including personal lines – home, auto, life and disability and commercial businesss lines.

Ms. Shaw migrated back to HR leadership, taking on prestigious roles with Fortune 100 & Fortune 500 Global companies, such as GE where Ms. Shaw partnered and advised CEO’s, CFO’s, and C-level leadership providing effective, analytical, consultation and HR leadership support focusing on building talent capabilities, revenue growth, and world-class customer service.

She continued her career as the Vice President of Human Resources for Bank of America, and came full circle back to the insurance industry as HR Business Partner for Farmers Insurance, owned by Zurich Global.
