He attributes his success to the constant encouragement of his parents and the work ethic that they instilled in him. He also credits his dedication to work and the quality of his work.
Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
He became involved in information technology because when he was 12, he wanted to take things apart and see how they worked. He was more interested in seeing how something worked. In college, Mr. Awdi started working on several technology projects and helped his parents with the cost of education. He started out as a computer operator on the midnight shift, and began dabbling in writing programs and running programs to do the work in the background.
Mr. Awdi's parents influenced him to pursue education in IT because of their positions in the education field. His mom put him in a maritime academy to study computer programming.

Mr. Awdi has more than 20 years of experience in higher education. 4S International has been enhancing the student experience from first contact through graduation. The company was founded in 1993 as AWDI Corporation, and recently evolved to become 4S International.
Mr. Awdi currently serves as the president and CEO of 4S International. He founded the company in 1993 in Coral Springs, Fla. He continued to grow and evolve with the growing market, and specialized in higher education. He has implemented CRM, ERP and SIS solutions for colleges all around the United States. As part of his growth strategy, he recently expanded globally and re-launched 4S International to reach and serve the global higher education community.
The company employs 15 to 50 subcontractors, depending on the project. He does the hiring. He personally speaks to clients ensuring a good fit, and during the projects, he ensures the quality and satisfaction. He is concerned with the success of client, and improvement and evolution of higher education, which is his primary goal. He turns down projects that he feels would not be in the best interests of the industry. He first does a general assessment of the "as is" technology situation in the college and recommends changes.
His industry-specific experience includes retail, finance, insurance, health care and technology. Although he is a functional consultant, he has in-depth knowledge of many technical areas that relates to system implementations. With well over 20 full life-cycle implementations, Mr. Awdi acquired expert knowledge in customer relationship management applications, help desk for human resource, support, sales, online marketing, work force communications, order management, quality and field services. In addition, he has successfully integrated CRM with other systems like campus solutions and human resources.
In recent years, he acquired an expert knowledge of Datatel (now Ellucian) Recruiter Application, which is a higher education specific CRM solution based on the Microsoft Dynamics CRM platform. Furthermore, he has been a principal consultant to Ellucian and CIBER and subcontractor for IO and Oracle.

Where Will You Be In 5 Years:
In five years, Mr. Awdi looks to become less hands-on and establish a permanent team to run the company. He also aims to expand into the Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Europe regions.
