What has been the most outstanding thing you have done thus far in your career?:
His greatest career achievement has been coming into a VP position and taking a highly fractured organization and pulling it together; he saved the company over $100 million, which was spread out over 14 regions, while improving quality along the way and setting a new tone in the organization to not only get the job done efficiently, but also showing them it can be a fun and pleasant environment to work in.

Expanded Biography:
Dr. Shoultz has served as a conference speaker and learning and organizational development consultant for the past two years. Prior to that, he was the head of learning and development for E&P from 2007 until 2014. He improved the efficacy of the enterprise’s exploration and production segment by spearheading an initiative to centralize loosely connected and fragmented learning organizations of 18 international regions and functions into one unified structure; enabled functionally-based learning.

He boosted career progression of employees from 20-plus countries by instituting “swim lane” process methodology and prescriptive road maps for early and mid-career employees for "eXcellence" program including formal learning, informal learning including coaching and networks, objective assessments on employee progress, and quantitative and qualitative results demonstrating improvement from a traditional approach.

In addition, Dr. Shoultz developed and sustained world-class learning environment for early career professionals by overseeing the challenge program and directed training covering technical, business and interpersonal skills.

From 2004 until 2007, he served as the director of learning and development and corporate human resources for Ford Motor Company, during which time he steered the leadership team in identifying and driving comprehensive organizational development and learning strategy with global and cross-cultural considerations for second-largest U.S.-based automaker. He also consulted with managers and conducted needs assessment to determine training requirements, as well as customized departmental and individualized development plans to elevate company’s performance. In another position with Ford Motor Company, that of director of global launch planning and workforce readiness, he turned around performance by unifying disparate groups and consolidating learning processes, as well as reduced costs by 40 percent, minimized variations, and improved launch quality and employee participation.

Dr. Shoultz has also served as the corporate human resources director for site operations for General Dynamics after leaving his role as a human resources manager of vehicle operations for Ford Motor Company, which he eventually returned to.

He has served as a subject matter expert and authority in the field of learning and organization development for the oil and gas industry. Throughout the duration of your career, what was the one highlight that stood out the most?:
In January 2009, he spearheaded, designed, launched, and oversaw the BP "eXcellence" Program by providing actionable road maps for accelerated development of deep technical expertise. As a result, he reduced time for early- to mid-career employees to reach senior competency and performance levels from 15 to 10 years from the traditional career model.

He became involved in his profession because of his background in human resources, learning and development. Dr. Shoultz eventually moved into the learning and organizational development area, as he found it to be more positive and fulfilling.

Dr. Shoultz has worked for Ford Motor Company, Gulfstream General Dynamics Corporation, and the upstream segment at BP p.l.c. He is now consulting.

He has done global conference speaking and consulting.
